It was a touching sight sure to tug the heart strings in Milltown last night, as a group of teens played basketball with a local police officer.

A video is making the rounds on Facebook, showing Cpl. Terry Pomeroy shooting hoops with the group at the basketball court on Milltown Blvd.

Sgt. Peter Stubbs with the St. Stephen RCMP tells us the action has received some attention.

You can read the full statement from Sgt. Peter Stubbs here:

"Cpl. Terry Pomeroy has always sought to build relationships with the community, especially working with youth.

Cpl. Pomeroy has coached wrestling at various levels and is currently working with the Canada Games team and assists with the Saint Stephen High School team.

Within the entire Detachment we strive to build relationships with the communities we serve, this is one example of the positive inroads the members are making within the detachment area.

I would also like to take the opportunity to thank the community for their consistent support for the RCMP.

Since I arrived in St. Stephen in July, 2016, I have been very impressed with the overall community support and the positive relationships that are being built with the community.

I believe St. Stephen is not only a great place to work, but a great place to live and raise a family."
