Anaheim's Corey Perry got the winner when his shot deflected in off Nashville defenseman P.K. Subban's stick at 10:25 of overtime as the Ducks snapped the Predators' 10 game home playoff winning streak with a 3-2 win to tie up the Western Conference final at two games each.

Toronto Blue Jays center fielder Kevin Pillar was suspended for two games after yelling an anti-gay slur at Atlanta pitcher Jason Motte. Pillar apologized, saying he was completely and utterly embarrassed.......The Blue Jays beat Atlanta 9-0 with pitcher Marcus Stroman hitting his first ever homer in the Majors. Jose Bautista was drilled by a pitch in the thigh after his bat flip the night before angered the Braves.....Kansas City downed the New York Yankees 5-1 and the Boston Red Sox lost to Oakland 8-3 as the A's hit three homers. The Saint John Alpines of the New Brunswick Senior Baseball League will play their home opener tomorrow afternoon at Memorial Field. The Charlottetown lslanders will be in town for a doubleheader starting at 2:00. New Alpines import player Jack Shannon is expected to get the start in the second game. Shannon, a native of San Diego, arrived in town earlier this month and has been practicing with the team as well as leading indoor clinics for youth players, over the past 2 weeks. He's a left handed pitcher/outfielder, who played at the University of San Diego, a Division One school, and last season was a player/coach in Cologne
Germany. He also has playing experience in Australia. Last year's league batting champion, Ryan Owens, will be rejoining the team next week.
