While Canada celebrates its 150th anniversay, so is Moosehead Brewery with festivities tomorrow and, as you might expect, a big party at the brewery for which you need a ticket to attend.
Moosehead was started by an English woman, Susannah Oland, who moved to Halifax in 1865 with her family. It was moved to Saint John after the 1917 Halifax explosion destroyed the brewery.
Moosehead President and C-E-O Andrew Oland says the circle of beer drinkers is getting wider with more Millenials and women who are looking for greater variety and more flavours.
Oland credits this, in large part, to the growing number of small brewers which he welcomes, saying the more people who are interested in beer, the better.
He says Moosehead ships beer to 15 countries and 80 per cent of what's produced at the Saint John brewery is exported.
