The Blacks Harbour Fire Department is recruiting firefighters and accountability personnel. If you want to do something important for your community, and are willing to take on a challenging opportunity, being a volunteer firefighter or Accountability officer may be the opportunity for you. A soil and garden class with Mark Fulford will be held Saturday, April 29th, at the Washington County Community College Lecture Hall. Located on River Road in Calais, from 9-3pm. There is no charge, donations are welcome. Bring you lunch. For more information call 454-3364.

A fundraising spaghetti dinner and dessert will be held at the Kirk McColl United Church Hall on Saturday, APril 29th, at 5:30pm. All funds will go to support Tammy McLaughlin (Dempsey), who is dealing with serious health issues and is unable to work. Tickets are $10 per person, and you must get your tickets in advance, available at Stuart's Gifts, the St. Stephen Middle School Office, or at the Kirk McColl. The Honeydale Pentecostal Church is holding a Honeydale Explosion. Special services will be held Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, April 28th to the 30th. Light refreshments will follow each service.

A retirement celebration in honor of Reverand Gordon and Anne Cooke will be held Sunday, April 30th, to thank them for their many years of dedication to the Sea View Full Gospel Church. The celebration will begin at 10:30am during morning service, with an Open House from 12:30-2pm in the church dining hall. Lunch and refreshments will be provided. The St. Croix Vocational Center will hold their annual Spring Craft Fair on Saturday, May 6th, at the St. Stephen Legion, 43 Queen Street, from 10-3pm. Lots of local vendors with crafts, beauty products, baked goods, and lots more. And you'll have the chance to win $50 in Craft Cash - money you can spend with vendors at the craft fair. The Calais Lioness Club will be hosting their annual giant yard sale, Saturday, May 6th, from 8-12noon eastern. The fundraiser will be held at the old Calaid High School on Washington Street, next to the Post Office. Something for everyone.

The Passamaquoddy Children's Center is holding a fundraiser Yard Sale - Bake Sale - and BBQ, on Saturday May 13th, coinciding with the St. Andrews Town Wide Yard Sale. 73 Frederick Street, beginning at 8:30. They will also have facepainting, and a visit from Snorkel the Seal.

98.1 The Tide presents Russell deCarle from Prairie Oyster, and his CD Release of "Alone in the Crowd" , Saturday, June 3rd, at the Garcelon Civic Center in St. Stephen. Featuring special guests Tyler Deveau and Eloie Richard. Doors open at 7:30, show starts at 8. Tickets are $20 in advance, or $25 at the door. The Boys & Girls Club of Charlotte County are hosting the Ultimate Washer Tournament, a fundraiser on Saturday, June 10th, at the St. Stephen Ball Field and Legion. Pre-registration is required by June 9th. Food, drinks, and dancing to follow with DJ Bob Hamel. Entry fee is $40 per team. If your team raises more than $80 in pledges, your entry fee will be waived. Dance fee is $5. Pledge sheets are available at the Club. Must be 19 years of age or older. The 2017 Rally in the St. Croix Valley is set for August 4th, 5th, and 6th, at the St. Stephen Legion. Featuring the Parade of Lights, vendors, live music, guided ride, poker run, show and shine, beer garden, and the Elimination Draw. 1st prize: choose between a 2017 Harley Davidson Road King or a 2017 Polaris 900 Side by Side. 2nd prize $1000, 3rd prize is a Harley jacket at $200 cash.
