August 4th/5th/6th The 2017 Rally in the St. Croix Valley is set for August 4th, 5th, and 6th, at the St. Stephen Legion. Featuring the Parade of Lights, vendors, live music, guided ride, poker run, show and shine, beer garden, and the Elimination Draw. 1st prize: choose between a 2017 Harley Davidson Road King or a 2017 Polaris 900 Side by Side. 2nd prize $1000, 3rd prize is a Harley jacket and $200 cash. And there is still ONE ticket left, to be auctioned off at the Draw on Saturday! All draw proceeds benefit veterans charities. For more information, call 754-5348.

 

August 6th Don't miss the annual Green's Point Lighthouse picnic, at 185 Green's Point Road in L'Etite from 12 noon - 1:30pm. Free hot dogs, cake, pop abd water - or bring your own picnic lunch! Picnic tables and washrooms available on-site. Come meet old friends and new and spend an afternoon enjoying some beautiful scenery. Everyone is welcome! For more info, call 755-3630. August 9th The Charlotte County Hospital Auxiliary will host a Chocolate Fest Luncheon from 11:30 - 1:00 at the Masonic Hall on 9 Main Street in St. Stephen, featuring fancy sandwiches and sweets, coffee and tea. Cost is $12. For tickets or more info call Barb at 529-8934. Tickets can also be purchased from Hospital Auxiliary members or the Hospital Gift Shop.

 

August 10th The Charlotte County Archives will host its third Speaker Series of the summer at the St. Andrews court house on 123 Frederick Street, at 7pm. In honour of Canada 150, Professor Greg Marquis will be speaking about Confederation and will discuss some of its effects on our area. Refreshments will be served afterward, and admission is free or by donation.

 

August 10th and 12th There will be a two day football camp on Thursday Aug. 10th from 6:30 - 8:30pm, and Saturday Aug. 12th from 10am - 12 noon at the St. Stephen High School field. Featuring skills, drills, teamwork and fun! Open to players from Charlotte County and the greater Calais area! Co-ed, ages 8 - 15. Players to wear t-shirts, shorts and cleats (not metal) and bring their own water bottle. No cost - free of charge! And registration for the fall season can be done online at fundyminorfootball.com August 11th/12th Quoddy Quilters are hosting a Quilt Show Friday from 10am - 6pm and Saturday from 10am - 4pm, at the Wesley United Church on 77 William Street in St. Andrews. Tickets on a Canada 150 quilt are available at Cockburn's Drug Store in St. Andrews. All proceeds from the quilt raffle will be donated to the St. Andrews and St. George food banks.

 

August 12th Check out the Chocolate Fest pancake breakfast from 8-10am at the Anglican Church Trinity Hall on Armstrong Street. Tickets available at the door. $6 for adults, $3 for kids 12 and under, and $16 for the entire family. The all-you-can-eat menu will include pancakes, sausages and beans! August 13th The Passamaquoddy Region of the NB Antique Auto Club will hold their annual Old Iron Car Show, Sunday, August 13th, from 11-3pm at the Kent Building Supply Parking Lot, King Street in St. Stephen. There is a $5 entry fee per car, but its a free event for the public. Trophies, entertainment, a BBQ, prizes, a 50/50 draw, and dash plaques for the first 100 cars. All vehicles are welcome. August 19th The Second Baptist Church in Calais presents - all the way from Nashville - The Darts, live in concert. 6:30pm EST on 21 Church Street in Calais. For info call Pam at 454-4433. August 26th The Town od St. Stephen is celebrating Canada 150 with a summer concert. Blue Rodeo will be performing in concert, Saturday, August 26th, at the Garcelon Civic Center. Opening acts are Tristan Horncastle and Radio Factory. Doors open at 6:30, Show starts at 7:30. Tickets are $39.75 each, available at the Garcelon Civic Center Box Office.

 

September 9th The 7th Annual Andrew Bartlett Memorial Golf Tournament & Silent Auction will be held Saturday, September 9th, at the Rod Whitman golf Course in St. Andrews. Register at 11:30 with a shotgun start to follow. Golf entry fee is $100 per person, includes taxes, balls, cart, and BBQ. Yard Sales August 12th The 4th annual Maces Bay and surrounding areas community yardsale will be getting underway at 8am.
