Southwest Miramichi MLA Jake Stewart says healthcare should be centralized adding the biggest challege we have is looking after those who do not have doctors.      He thinks if we used all the health professionals we have there wouldn't be a doctor shortage.

Not Much Change Expected For NB Gas Prices

After last week's big jump, not much change is expected in New Brunswick gas prices this week.

Senior petroleum analyst Dan McTeague with says any change for both gas and diesel will be small.

"If there is anything, there might be a half-cent increase on diesel and on gasoline," he notes.

With the summer driving season coming to an end, McTeague believes prices will continue to decrease in September.

Police Release Pics Hoping to Identify Two Men Near A Bank

City police need your help in identifying two people seen near a west side bank days before an armed robbery.

Police releasing images of the two people who were noticed after hours on August 9th at the Bayview Credit Union on Main Street west acting suspiciously and wearing similar clothing worn during the robbery which occurred on August 19th.

Hunter Brothers Farm Celebrates Blue Jays 40th Season With Corn Maze

For the past 16 years, the Hunter Brothers Farm in Florenceville-Bristol, New Brunswick, have made corn mazes and this year's maze is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Toronto Blue Jays.

Lee Hunter says his grandmother came up with the idea.

Hunter says his grandmother is the biggest Blue Jays fan, adding she's already been to three games this year.

The design stems from Jose Bautista's iconic bat flip from last season.

Cardy Responds To Gallant's First Quarter Budget Update For 2016

New Brunswick NDP Leader Dominic Cardy questions who would want to invest in a province that isn't sure how much debt it has.

Cardy says the first quarter budget update for 2016, which included a wide ranging $80 million margin of error, shows the government is losing control.

He says the Gallant government "can't even tell us how much debt we're in".

Cardy says New Brunswick is the only place in the entire world that needs to give government subsidies to marijuana farmers, when everyone has figured out you can sell weed without government subsidies.

Public's Input Will Be Sought For Name Of New West Side School

A naming committee will be reaching out to the public this fall for suggestions on what to name the new West side school in Saint John, which will house about 470 students from Havelock, St. Patrick's and Seawood.

Anglophone South School District superintendant Zoe Watson says anyone can submit an idea for the school.

"We'll have it set up on our website, so that that is the vehicle for submitting your suggestion and a little explanation of why you've made that suggestion," says Watson.

Baxter's Corner Home Destroyed By Fire

A home in Baxter's Corner has been destroyed in a fire. 

Simonds Fire and a tanker from the KV Fire department responded to the call and when firefighters arrived they found heavy black smoke and fire coming from the attic of the home.

Nobody was hurt.

The call came in around 10:30 at night and crews were on scene for several hours.

Yard Equipment Stolen From Church In Hanwell

Lawn and yard equipment has been stolen from a church in Hanwell and police are looking for your help in getting to the bottom of it.

Between Saturday morning and Monday faternoon a person or people broke into a shed on the Hanwell Community Church property and stole a green John Deere tractor, model D120, a black Poulan Pro 2-in-1 self-propelled lawnmower, and a red Craftsman snowblower.

Anyone who knows anything or might have seen someone in the area is asked to contact the RCMP.
